In 1999, the National Institute of Roads published bid specifications for the operation of toll stations on the national road work. The Thomas Greg & Sons Ltd. Group presented its offer through the promise of a future society called Concessionary Society of Routes and Tolls S.A. – VIPSA. As of July 16, 1999, VIPSA began the operation and administration of the 36 toll stations for the Central and East zones, for an initial period of 24 months until July 15, 2002. On December 26, 2001, an extension for this contract was signed for an additional 18 months until January 15, 2004.
In 2004 we introduced a new bidding as Concessionary Society and Operator of Routes and Tolls 2004 S.A.- VIPSA 2004 and we obtained 36 toll stations.
